OUTDOOR FILTER SYSTEM

Image placeholder

At Blöndal, we take water conditions and weather patterns seriously to cater to the right solution. As such, water sampling as well as research and development are conducted from time to time to develop a product that would feed the needs of different water types.

The modular system is designed to maximise filtration and purification of various types of water contaminants including chemical compounds and even health hazardous microorganisms. As Blöndal takes its vision to the next level, we foresee the inception of various customised modular system that would further enhance water purification and filtration to a greater extent

Point-of-Entry (PoE) water filters are connected to the main incoming water supply. It provides clean and safe water for all your household needs such as cooking, washing and bathing.

Both are essential in supplying homes with clean, clear and chlorine-free water. An effective PoE removes sediment and chlorine for your family’s daily use and a PoU in the kitchen ensures that finer sediments including bacteria and viruses are eliminated completely at the point of drinking. Installing only a PoU in the kitchen is not sufficient as it is not designed to filter load of sediment, sand, rust, chlorine and other waste material that contaminates water

Be cautious when choosing the right drinking water filter as wrong choice potentially risks your quality of water and health. Take note that a badly designed drinking water filter not only provides inadequate filtration but also traps contaminants. Consequently, organic matter decay further, polluting water quality while becoming breeding ground for bacteria and viruses.

These compounds combined with free chlorine create more Trihalomethanes (THM), a cancer causing component that destroys the wellbeing of you and your family.

Types of Filter Media Used in PoE 844

3 Stage Filter Media

Granular Activated Carbon

Activated carbon is used at both the municipal and home levels to purify drinking water. It is also used to treat effluent water from industrial processing. In both cases, the goal is to remove both noxious and toxic compounds that affect both the safety and aesthetics of the treated water. It effectively removes bad taste, odour and prevents all organic compounds to freely react with chlorine that form THM.

Fine Silica Sand

Silica Sand is manufactured by crushing crystalline quartz lumps to various sizes and is also known as white silica sand. Silica Sand has very high silica content as compared to river sand and has negligible or no natural impurities. Silica Sand is highly resistant to both mechanical and chemical weathering and makes an excellent filter media.

Coarse Silica Sand

Same as above but coarser size to further filter water impurities. A strong combination for long lasting performance.
